Cleo`s Mediterranean Cuisine & Convenience in New Orleans

Excellent shawarma, Nan was fresh, all at 4 AM, Cleo's is a must, every time we're in town!

Went for a meal last week while visiting New Orleans. Great vegetarian food and good friendly service. The cost was also reasonable and convenient if staying in The French Quarter. Recommended especially if you are Vegan or Vegetarian. Paul & Brenda (UK)

We came in with 8 people and while there was some mix up with orders, the owner was incredibly apologetic and kept asking how to make it up to us, including cooking everything again for free. He insisted on giving us free deserts, which were delicious!! Swarma and gyros are quite tasty and staff were friendly. No complaints here at all.

Price is relatively cheap for what you get. Would definitely go for the lamb wrap more than falafel or the other meat ones but wanted to try the falafel option as well and doesn't disappoint

Food was delicious. Only thing i didn't like was the pita bread coz it was chewy. Cashier was ok with her job. She explained everything we wanted to know. Price is kind of hig but what can you expect in the crowded lousiana street.

Delicious food in an unassuming environment. Go into what looks like a convince store and notice the collection of international candy. Push past and to the delicious Mediterranean food in the back. Everything we had was amazing. We tried an appetizer sampler, gyro, lamb (x2), and veg plate. Team Cleo's told us that they are about to open a new restaurant down the street. I'm excited to see where they go and will follow them wherever it may be.

Happened upon this place after leaving the insectarium. The Greek salad was fresh, tasty and attractive. Good prices, friendly service.

The restaurant is located inside the convenience store. Found the food very tasty and the server was extremely nice and attentive. Portions were pretty large and the prices were very reasonable considering the proximity to the French Quarter. Definitely recommended.

Ordered the gyro sandwich and hummus appetizer. Sandwich needed more flavor... hummus had good flavor.

The food was delicious and flavorful. Great adorable prices! Sad I found that place on my last day visiting NOLA! Next time I'm in town I intend to go visit Cleo's!!!

They have a wide selection of drinks, some of which you can only get at whole foods or fresh market. This water is expensive whereever Ive seen it. Not sure where they got the stock from. Anyway the lamb shank looks big. I dont have the stomach to finish it tonight. Anyway, interesting selections here

Little hole in the wall with great food, great prices and friendly staff. Meal was elegantly presented and served. I did not expect that given the setting! Small grocery section in the restaurant stocked with many kinds of drinks.

I order the lamb with hummus. It was pretty delicious! This is a fun place to grab some food. The food selection is great AND they have a refrigerator with no alcoholic and alcoholic beverages for sale.

OMG! Cleo's is awesome! I've eaten here over 15tines in the last 2months! I love everything I've tried so far! It's open 24hrs!

Ate delicious food there and th have an excellent selection of different drinks.

Food is very fresh and tasty. You can find lots of vegetarian options in the menu and food was ready in 15 minutes. The problem is they do not offer water and you need to buy it. There is a fridge that you can go and choose a drink and bring it to your table. Also, when we went to pay they automatically added 20% tip which I think was not fair for the service. Worse than than since the place is a grocery store too, I got a chocolate while we were in line to pay and the cashier added the price of chocolate to the food and then calculated 20% tip!

Open late with a huge variety of sodas and different drinks as well as snacks. Lots of unique and hard to find/imported stuff. Lots of tobacco products like gar wraps and cigarettes. They also have a Mediterranean restaurant with good late night food.

The spinach pie is delicious. The chicken shawarma was the best I've found in the States. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is familiar without having been here before.

They moved to a new location and have been here for about a year. This place is a candy and drink paradise with 100s of options. It also has good Mediterranean food.

Great food but a little pricey. My portion was smaller than I expected but it was delicious. If you want to get full for lunch you will pretty much have to get the 14.99 plate of almost anything here. I enjoyed the convenience store environment all around us as it made it easy to get snacks for later.

Excellent Mediterranean food at an off-beat casual location. The manager allowed us to get some beers which was a plus. They have a great selection of craft soft drinks and an interesting menu that is freshly prepared.

Hidden Gem! Food is delicious and authentic. Beautifully plated. Must try the lentil soup! Ate there 3 times in 1 week while on a work trip.

The food was amazing the staff was great and the owner is a sweet amazing chef! Best Middle Eastern food I’ve had in America! Definitely will be visiting again when I’m down in New Orleans.

My wife and I were in Louisiana for the first time. We had a chance to taste some Mediterranean food at Cleo dinner. She ordered the Beef Shawarma which came with basmati rice and chose a side order of salad. I had the Lamb Chunk with yellow basmati rice with totilla and hummus. To be honest it is my first time eating Mediterranean food. A brother of mine recommended it and it turned out to be delicious. My wife and I enjoyed it very well to the point that we even ate each other’s portions. I recommend any one who is in the area to visit this restaurant. You won’t regret it. You will just love it. P.s. try the mix fruit drink.

If I lived in the Crescent City, I would be eating here all.the.time. I've lived in Alexandria, Egypt twice, and this food fills a fül sized hole in my soul, while also being distinctly of New Orleans. The addition of hot sauce to the foul medames is brilliant, and the pepper oil in the tzatziki is flat-out inspired. In Egypt these foods would have been complemented with flavors that one can't always find in the US, so in true immigrant-fashion, they're spun into flavors from the local area. I would have been happy to eat this on my balcony in Sporting, two blocks from the tram, and I'm delighted to eat them on Canal, right beside the street car!Order a bunch of mezzes and enjoy what the vision of the chef.شكرا!

Small place but they have excellent food and service. One of the best hummus in town.

We enjoy Mediterranean food, especially after a trip to Egypt. We are always looking for a place to get more. Cleo's did not disappoint! We ordered the vegetarian plate because good baba ganoush is hard to find. Cleo's tebouleh salad is super flavorful, the fried cheese layered with spinach, tomatoes, and goat cheese is fabulous, the chicken seasoned with tumeric and curry is amazing. Our family of 6 ate for 100.00, because we ordered so many great entres... and had humus and plenty of our meal left over. Plus, one of the staff members we met is from Egypt, and we had a great time chatting about how delicious koshari is and how no restaurants make it...maybe it will appear on the menu one day...

Excelent place! Good food! And price

Food was great! I ordered grape leaves with meat for an appetizer and it was excellent. For lunch we ordered the chicken schwarma and beef shish kbobs.... I enjoyed the chicken over the beef because the beef was in large chunks and kind of hard to chew... but the chicken was cooked to perfection.. Downside, there were a couple fruit flies bothering me.

I was traveling for work and had walked by Cleo’s on my previous 2 visits, so when I saw the reviews I knew I had to see how the food matched up to the amazing aromas. It was Exactly as most of the previous reviews promised: It’s a little bit expensive - $17 for a full platter of their star dishes - but there was plenty of food and it was absolutely spectacular! Try the Egyptian breakfast, as the fried eggplant and fava dip were both something new and tasty. I brought it back to my hotel, but you can stay and eat there if you’re just taking a break from the French Quarter. Enjoy!

The only star missing is because it's not a proper restaurant. Otherwise, The food here is delicious! And best of all, It is Halal.

Vegetarian dishes were awesome! had Veg platter and lentil soup. Jessica is an awesome person, full of energy and very welcoming!

Friendly mini-mart with tables by the drinks cooler and really tasty food. It was a little more expensive than I thought it would be but it was well worth it. The people who work there were also very pleasant.

Delicious and authentic food. It’s inside a convince store and pocket friendly prices. Especially try Lamb Shank, and Dessert: Baklava

I ordered a shrimp wrap from here yesterday, service was great I wasn’t too happy with the smell of the food the wrap could’ve been cooked a little longer.

I don't know what it was about this restaurant, but I fell in love with it; I'd go back in a heartbeat. Friendly service and amazingly authentic Lebanese dishes. Although most people say don't miss New Orleans' jambalaya and beignets (which is true), I also say don't miss this place! My lamb and hummus plate was to die for--I didn't leave so much as a drop of olive oil on my plate. Site is also great for the international foods and beverages available in the shop.

Great store with amazing drinks and food and opened late late late when all things are closed and very flavorful.

I had chicken kofta with humus and rice. It was tasty but I think they could have been a little easy on salt. The humus with spicy/hot sauce was a great touch as well. I will definitely try something else here before I leave. The service was quick as well.

I definitely didn't expect this place to be good when I first walked in It was a grocery store with a restaurant in the back and this is why you never judge a book by it's cover. The food was the best middle eastern food I had in New Orleans I would go back every day if i had the chance and the owner was so nice which made the e experience even better!

Best Mediterranean in NOLA, hands down. The food is exceptional and plentiful. With a large menu to choose from you can't go home hungry from Cleo's! I recommend the Veggie Swarma w/ Lamb added (or whatever meat you prefer); it's the best of all things! And don't forget the taziki sauce!

The food here is AMAZING! And, the diversity in bottled soda choices and other beverages make it even more amazing. Plus, the regular convenience store items, the best candy selection, and dine in or take out service, with quick timing. i cant say enough goos things about the place. It was great.

All the drinks! This place has the widest and deepest selection of beverages I've ever seen, and includes many beverages I have never seen. If you need some rare or exotic beverage, come here. Amazing selection.
